I just came back from a 2 week vacation to Okinawa prefecture and I just want to remind Hondo peeps that heck, there’s this really nice subtropical chain of islands just 2-3 hours away from where most of us live that’s a pretty fucking neat getaway during the winter! It’s no Hawai’i, no, but that also means there’s no gruesome border control and that it’s not ridiculously overpriced. Matter of fact, I’d call it cheap as hell. There’s lots of great cafés, both modern “3rd wave” ones and kominka’s, great castle ruins on the main island, the food is good, there’s some incredible beaches, people are friendly and relaxed. We had some really great days with 26C weather but even when the max was around 19C, we had a great time. Being back in a very cold Kansai kinda sucks. My daughter woke up this morning and started crying, saying “I want to go back,” LOL.
(Just remember you need to rent a car to enjoy it fully)
