I have applied for National Health Insurance and I received a lot of mails for the pension as well (they made me apply for the pension). I will be in Japan for 9 months only and this pension is very expensive (49560 yen, I don’t even know if these are normal prices). Since I am leaving in August and I was here for barely 9 months, and I don’t get money from the Japanese government (I am here as a student), I don’t see the point of paying a pension. Can anyone give me some inside into this and indicate what I should do?
