What is writen in Japanese Paper Lantern?

Im working in a Japanese architecture project, and in some references i see that theres some paper lanterns with some writing on it. What is usually writen on it? I’ve searched about the meaning, but i didn’t found anything about the writing itself.

If you know about it, i would love to also know more about the Japanese architecture (I already researched about, but theres some things I’m still working on)

  1. Really depends on where the lantern is. Ones Infront of izakaya usually say the shops name, or whatever the shops specialty is, or sometime just 酒(booze). At temples are usually the temple name, or the name a donor company or individual. If you can share a picture I’ll have a better idea of what you are looking for.

  2. Do you have examples?

If you mean the ones outside izakaya on normal streets, it just says alcohol (酒), izakaya (居酒屋), or a type of food the restaurant sells.
