Yup felt that one
First time experiencing an earthquake while on the toilet
lots of fun riding a roller coaster on my bed
Been a while since I had the emergency alert
My futon became a massage chair!
From Meguro – it shook for 8 seconds probably. Definitely big enough to notice right away but not big enough to get scared. More worried about how frequent these 4/5s are happening.
Yes
My nerv app was screaming earthquake earthquake while i was drooling asleep
I mean it was a 3 and 2 in most Tokyo so I think everyone felt that lol
Got down and held on to my TV just to be safe.
My alert app sounded literally as the shaking started 🤣
yep, it was pretty long…

Triggered the emergency alert … M5.3 according to NHK news
In Chiba. Woke me up before the phone warning sounded, but it wasn’t that bad (maybe a shindo 4 here). Figured I’d check Reddit before going back to sleep.
First time having the national emergency system come through the phone; especially scary when you’re on the yamanote and everyone’s phone goes off at once.
That being said between the normal train rocking I didn’t feel anything at all and we kept on trucking.
Hard not to feel it lmao. It was the first time I received the strong quake alert from the NERV app, felt a bit anxious about it tbh
Was on a conference call and got the alert at home and heard the phones go off on the call as well. The gentleman speaking at the time said “Ibaraki desu ne” mid-sentence and carried right on. I can’t claim that level of equanimity so I was glad it ended in seconds.
shit, NERV alert is much more scary than earthquake itself
Definitely felt it sitting on my couch by sky tree. Long one!
In Tokyo. Got the alert but my wife and I felt nothing. I was about a 10 min walk away from her!
Edit: my wife felt it in the hotel room. And I did not walking outside. I guess I am oblivious!
Lmao my wife was in a business meeting during it and no one batted an eye
Oh, I thought it was my sea legs acting up because I just went ashore off the boat for a shower !
I was on my bike in Minato-ku and didn’t feel anything. Stopped when I heard the alert thinking the world was about to come down around me but nothing happened. Thought it was a false alarm.
Yes, in high rise in Musashikosugi.
I dunno OP, were you all excited to rush to reddit to be the first to post about it?
Woke up with this and with the nerv notification 🫨 I’m in Chiba atm, it’s the one who felt the strongest for me up until now
I was half asleep and thought the wind was just blowing crazy hard until my phone started yelling at me.
We had emergency alerts go off on three cellphones. Ran over to the babies to make sure they were okay. Stood around for a few minutes waiting for the earthquake. Didn’t feel a thing. (Kita-ku)
The alert rang at the exact moment the shaking started in Shibuya. Just a minor wobble of my chair. Wouldn’t have realized if not for the alert.
Yup
I was inside an elevator. I thought some problem with the elevator. Then my phone started screaming.
no one would haven’t noticed, that’s too strong
Absolutely nobody felt it.
