Baseball in Japan – Swallows or Tigers?

Hi all,

Just looking for opinions on seeing a baseball game in Japan and what the best team/stadium to see is? I’ve seen that going to a baseball game in Japan is an awesome experience and is very energetic! I would love to see this for myself and catch a game! I am not too familiar with the NPB and I would be looking to attend the game that is simply just the biggest spectacle, positive crowd experience, and best entertainment!

I will be in Tokyo (based in Shinjuku) from April 15-20 and I will be in Kyoto/Osaka from April 22-28.

With that said, the two games that I am really debating are either:

DeNA BayStars at Tokyo Yakult Swallows (April 19)

or

Tokyo Yakult Swallows at Hanshin Tigers (April 26)

The home teams of the Swallows and the Tigers both look fantastic with lots of pros to see either one in their home fields. To list a few pros I’ve seen:

The swallows have a historic stadium that is soon to be replaced (last chance to see Jingu), they have a very fun umbrella cheer when ever the team scores (love this), and they have a fun mascot and fanbase.

The Tigers have seemingly the MOST lively/loudest fanbase and also lots of great history.
