It’s officially my 7th year in Japan.
For some reason I wasn’t feeling too stressed about my visa extension until my friends told me I should be. Here’s where I’m at right now:
I worked for two English schools last year. I also have permission to work outside my visa- Engineering/Humanities/international services.
The school which helped me renew my visa let me go because they couldn’t hire enough students (it was a new school owned by an ex coworker).
Before my visa could be renewed, the let me go.
I continued to work for the 2nd school and increased my hours there.
I did not tell immigration about being let go from that school. Especially the timing of when I got my visa, how busy I became trying to make up for not working for that school anymore, it was the last thing on my mind.
I received a “letter of release” from the school that I will submit to immigration but I’m sure when they see the dates they might add up that I was let go before I received my new visa.
My visa expires in May and now I have a different sponsor. I’ve actually been working at this school for 3.5 years and they were the school to give me my COE to work in Japan.
How screwed am I when it comes to processing my new visa? Will I most likely be rejected?
