Is Japan typically accepting of foreign teachers?

Hello! I am a History Major in America who is considering potentially moving to Japan. Maybe. Currently thinking of it as an option. Any who, I was wondering what the general thoughts are surrounding a foreigner trying to get a teaching role there. Is it generally looked down upon, or is it actually accepted?
Naturally one would need to learn the language and customs and what not, but I think it could be a good idea to look into in the near future. I’d expect something like this could be a lot of work, but I feel like the country is nice enough to at least consider it an option.
