Being forced to write a letter of apology for sick leave (influenza)

I’m being forced to write by the end of today a letter of apology that:

1) apologize with specifics about the dates and situation

2) acknowledge hurt and damage done and the implications on the business.

3) take full responsibility and make it very clear that you were at fault.

4) promise it won’t happen again.

This is in regards to 5 days off this month were I had tested positive to Influenza.

I’m about to move companies and this is the same people who have caused me issues previous sickness during December (see previous posts about harassment). As I’m signing a new contract with another company (scheduled this Friday) and my boss wants this by days end today and they will be coming on Thursday to explain the situation and what is going to happen from next month.

Is it worth my time to write this apology? It’s a 90% certainty that the meeting on Friday will result in a contract with a new company but it’s not guaranteed.

I find it weird to sign an apology to take full responsibility for getting influenza when we have had over 10+ people the weeks before my infection also get sick with influenza.
