5. Their excuse is total bullshit. Such a big company like this can easily sponsor visas for foreign employees.
   My company is only around 500 employees and I can easily get a visa without being asked anything.

6. I would think Hanlon’s razor is at play here: “never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.”

   I think their HR simply is not trained or skilled enough to know the difference between “foreigner who can’t enter Japan” (which isn’t true anymore for a few weeks already) and just someone with (I guess) a foreign name.

   I don’t think it’s policy. Someone just fucked up or didn’t care enough for the amount of money they receive.

9. I was a foreign student in a big US university, and there were PLENTY recruiting events for US nationals or greencard holders only.

   And personally I’d rather know early on that I shouldn’t waste my time recruiting in a dead end lol.
