Planning on visiting Tokyo this year either from 9/24 to 10/7 or from 10/1 to 10/14. Will the difference in weather be drastic?

Hey guys. I’m planning to do my first ever Japan trip for 2 weeks. It’s a solo trip and I also really want to hike Mt Fuji during this time. I was able to find a guided tour company that is providing tours till the end of September (and potentially till Mid-October).

Unfortunately, I heard that July-Sept is also not great for weather in Tokyo, and October is really when things start to get better. I’m debating shifting my trip up 1-2 weeks to take advantage of this, but I won’t know if the guide company even has tours in mid-october until late June.

So I’m debating on whether to buy tickets now and book a tour from Late September, or wait and see if I can get a tour in early to mid october.

Just wondering, is the weather in Tokyo and Kyoto that much better if I postpone the trip by 1-2 weeks? Or should I just not worry about this and go ahead with my current plan.
