Honestly this saved me so much hassle. I wasn’t sure it would work, but in Wallet if you go to add card > transportation card and select Suica, your phone will add its own Suica card. Top up any amount using Apple Pay and off you go!
Then just use your phone to go through the gates (in and out). It works without hassle and it’ll directly debit the cost of your journey/show you your remaining balance. It’s all pretty instant!
