I’m currently on my trip to Tokyo and had lost my passport 3 days before my flight. To say the least I was in a panic. So if this sounds like you, let me help. First things first I lost it on a Thursday and I am flying Sunday. I called the US embassy immediately that morning. Biggest stresses: the work Monday -Friday and when I check online the appointments were two weeks out….. basically 2 weeks after my departure…. PANIC RIGHT???
They got me in right away I went immediately.
They provided all the forms to fill out and even had a picture booth. What you will need is some form of ID and you have to be able to pay (cash or card). Beyond that These people are amazing, kind, and understanding.
Don’t loose sleep like me. I’m returning same day to get my emergency passport.
