We’ve been to Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, etc., done all the basic touristy things on the mainland. Now we wanna go to Hokkaido and Okinawa during a month long trip (ideally via flight from Tokyo to CTS, Tokyo to OKA). What are your must sees in these areas in October/November without renting a vehicle? How long is needed to stay in each place?
We like to see the main attractions but also just explore areas and parks and see what we can find for sights and food. Would also like a bit of relaxation in there via onsen or the beach.😁

Okinawa without a car is gonna be rough. Outside of Naha you’ll be completely reliant on busses.
