Candy Pop- TWICE

I was listening to this song and I noticed that they use “mitai ni” even though it isn’t linked with a verb. They say
*君がくれた秘密の味
まるで candy みたいに*

Is it a casual use? Or is it referring to an elliptical “です” that could be placed at the end?

P.S.: this question is of grammar character
