1 week in Tokyo in mid-June – worth considering Sapporo instead?

So I wanted to take advantage of the weak yen and book a chill week in Tokyo. I’ve been here twice before and am confident I can do it solo and on a budget. Rough itinerary below, excluding travel days:

* Day 1: Outer Tsukiji market, Yayoi Kusama museum
* Day 2: TeamLabs Borderless, firefly gardens at Hotel Chinzanso
* Day 3: Ghibli museum, explore Kichijoji
* Day 4: Kamakura day trip for hydrangeas
* Day 5: Shopping in Shinjuku and/or Harajuku
* Day 6-7: I’ll probably do more shopping but want to leave these open-ended so I can chill out a bit too – maybe find an onsen/sentou or potentially hit up Yokohama for half a day if the weather holds up

Regarding tsuyu, the indoor activities should help me escape it and, as a Brit, I’m unfazed by rain anyway; however, heat and humidity are my enemies and I’ve read it can already be miserable in June. I was going to stay in a dorm so I’m currently messaging them about their AC situation, but other than that, there’s probably not much else I can do besides taking it slow.

Based on the above, do I need to rethink this trip? The alternative would be Sapporo but my concern is that I’d be travelling around the region more to places like Furano/Noribetsu/Hakodate and the costs would quickly add up. Given that a week is very short, I’d prefer to take a laid-back approach if I can.

Otherwise, for Tokyo, I’d love to hear of ways people like to relax and beat the heat that I may be able to build into my itinerary. Appreciate any thoughts! 🙂

EDIT: to clarify, the question about considering Sapporo instead would involve flying directly from the UK to Sapporo, skipping Tokyo entirely
