Good afternoon! Please critique my itinerary & maybe help with a couple of questions. I will be traveling to Japan Sept. 7th – 17th, and staying in Shibuya.
Questions:
1. I am planning to get tickets to the Yayoi Kusama Museum if it is open (I know it’s currently closed for exhibition changes and I don’t know how frequent/when that happens). Do these sell out quickly? Would I need to get tickets as soon as they go on sale?
2. Teamlabs – How early would I need to buy tickets to Teamlabs if I choose to go? Planets & Borderless, unsure which one I’d do
3. Sushi is my fav food and I am very interested in trying an expensive Omakase place. My boyfriend is not so much into sushi lol… Are there places like this where he would be able to get something to eat as well, or are these places primarily 100% sushi focused?
4. Advice on things that should be purchased when I get to tokyo, as opposed to packing? And is there somewhere to buy a nice pillow when we get there if the hotel pillows aren’t good enough for my boyfriends neck/back issues lol 🙁
I am trying to plan for the extreme heat, and not wanting to try and do too much & get ourselves sick with heat exhaustion, but I am also very excited and may be over-eager in my planning 🙁 so please call me out if you think a day could be too much/too packed in that regard.

* Airport, leave for Japan at \~7am 9/6
* Arrive at HND airport \~2PM – 4PM 9/7 (have not bought plane tickets yet)
* Expect \~1 hour for immigration (could be more or less)
* Train to hotel in Shibuya \~an hour per google maps
* Check into hotel
* Stock up at drug store & conbini (for toiletries, snacks, quick dinner, etc)

**Day 1 (Sunday)**
Shibuya / Harajuku
Morning: Harajuku \*If too much jetlag, skip & do on Monday\*
* Meiji Jingu
* Meiji Jingu Garden ¥500 (9am – 4:30p)
* Meiji Jingu Musuem ¥1000 (10a – 4p) closed Thursdays.
* Shop/Explore
Afternoon/Evening: Shibuya
Shibuya Scramble
* Get picture with the Hachiko statue
* Explore/shop in Shibuya (All within walking distance from hotel, will prioritize stores I really want to shop at)
\-Nintendo Tokyo (Top of Parco Mall, 10a/11a – 9p)
\-Pokemon Center (Parco Mall, 10a -9p)
\-Disney Store (Sun 10a/11a – 8p)
\-Daiso (2 locations, \~9:30/10a – 9/9:30p)
\-DonKi (open 24 hours)
\-Mandarake (12p – 8p)
-Tokyu Hands (10a – 9p)

**Day 2 (Monday)**
* \-Rest/Flex day
* Meiji Shrine stuff if skipped on Sunday & rest/take it slow
* If Sunday was completed, take it easy and adjust to time difference/find 1 thing to \~do\~

**Day 3 (Tuesday)**
Ikebukuro \*able to shift around based on pokemon cafe reservation\*
* Otome Road
* General shopping/exploring
* Arcades
* Mejiro Garden? (9a -5p) (closed Mondays)

**Day 4 (Wednesday)**

* Pokemon Cafe
* Pokecenter
* Mori Art Museum (Would this fit better elsewhere? I don’t have anything else planned around the pokemon cafe, if I can even land tickets, haha)

**Day 5 (Thursday)**
Shinjuku
Morning:
* Shinjuku Gyoen National Gardens Y500 (9a – 5:30p)
* Shopping
Afternoon/Evening:
* Yayoi Kusama Museum (Closed Mondays, Tuesdays, & Wednesdays)
* Soseki Museum Y500 (10a – 6p) (Closed Mondays)

**Day 6 (Friday)**
Morning: Asakusa
* Senso-Ji
* Tanuki Street
Afternoon/evening: Ryogoku
* Sumo (arrive around 12-1PM if no reserved seats, \~4PM if reserved)

**Day 7 (Saturday)**
* Check out of hotel at 11am and store bags at front….
* Go do something around Shibuya for 3 hours…
* Check back into same hotel at 2pm, new room… (extended stay and Friday was fully booked when I tried to re-reserve lol)
* Boyfriend may be getting tattoo this day

**Day 8 (Sunday)**
Ueno /Akihabara or Odaiba? Undecided & flexible but interested in:
* Ameyoko Shopping Disctrict
* Uninterested in Akihabara in general but like Arcades & Gachapons
* Giant Gundam
* Unko Museum?
* Trick Art Museum?
* Teamlab Planets? (kinda grossed out by icky feetsies)

**Day 9 (Monday)**
Yokohama (“Day Trip”, \~50min away from hotel)
* Chinatown
* Cup Museum? (closed Mondays)
* See the Ferris Wheel lol?
* Gundam Factory is closing this month forever, so I can’t visit this, correct?

**XDay 10X (Tuesday)**
* Check out of hotel is at 11am
* Plan to be at airport 1 – 2 hours before flight
* Have not purchased plane tickets yet, but may not have time to do anything before going to airport
