What documents do you need to carry on a motorcycle?

I bought a bike a year ago, I never rode one in my home country. I received a whole bunch of documents like insurance, 自賠責保険, and registration I think.
Anyway I just assumed it would be best to have all those on hand and that it would be required to have them in case of an accident or traffic stop by police, so I put them in a plastic bag in the carrier box.

Then clumsy oaf me didn’t seal my water bottle tightly enough and I put it in the carrier box and it soaked them all.
I know I can get them all reprinted at the city hall and insurance company office and I’m going to do that, I’m just wondering what all I’m specifically required to bring so that I don’t risk bringing documents with me that I don’t actually need to have on my person.
Off the top of my head I know you need your drivers license, a properly rated helmet, and the 自賠責保険書. What about the vehicle registration? For cars it’s necessary to have it, isn’t it?

My bike is 125cc and classed as 小型自動二輪車 or 原付二種
