I’m currently a JP resident in Tokyo, but there’s a chance that I may move back to my home country (UK) this year. I’ve been wanting to get more into JP => EN translation, (been doing some freelance work on top of my current proofreading/translation-related job) but some JP freelancing sites that I’ve seen like CrowdWorks require freelancers to have a Japanese bank account to receive payments with no other payment alternatives being offered.
As my Japanese bank account will have to be closed if I do move out of Japan, I was wondering whether anyone had any recommendations for online freelancing/side work sites companies that offer alternative payment methods such as Paypal, but are still quite popular among Japan companies/in Japan in general?
I’m currently trying to get on Gengo (translation test is currently unavailable due to too many JP>EN translators I think?) and Upwork (unsure of the size of the Japanese market on there), but if anyone has any other experiences with these sorts of sites, then some guidance in the right direction would be greatly appreciated!
