My GF recently bought a powerfull prebuilt computer, and MS Office at the checkout would’ve been another 22,000 Yen or so. I said “Nah, we can get this cheaper somewhere else, this is crazy…”
Now it turns out, the perpetual (non-subscription) version of Office 2021 is… 37,700 Yen for what is seemingly two licenses. There seems to be no cheaper option available in Japan, and I think this is beyond crazy gouging. This version doesn’t even have PowerPoint?
5000 Yen, fine, 10k Yen, ugh, if I have to. But this?
Any better ideas that someone has here? I’m currently checking other countries license prices and if they can be used here, and perhaps… checking some key sites. A legit purchase is very much preferred, but at this price point…
(She useses some of the special Word features that Google Docs and OpenOffice/etc don’t have, so those are no alternatives here.)
