Itinerary Check for Kyoto (3 Days during Golden Week)

Hello all. I will be in Kyoto this April – May during Golden Week (not ideal, I know but can’t change dates unfortunately!), and was hoping to do an itinerary check and get some of your advice/thoughts.

We will be staying near the Nishiki market area. Please also let me know if you think we’re missing any must-dos or of any activity-ideas for the evenings! Also, any survival tips for Golden Week would be very much appreciated. Welcome any and all thoughts – thank you so much for stopping by to read!

**Day #1:**

12 pm – Arrive in Kyoto! Drop-off bags at hotel.

1 pm – Visit Kiyomizudera Temple.

2 pm – Sannen Zaka and Ninen Zaka Path.

3 pm – Visit Kodaiji Temple.

4 pm – Visit Yasaka-Jinja Shrine.

5 pm and evening – Explore Gion and have dinner in area.

**Day #2:**

8 am – Arrive at Arashiyama and walk through Bamboo Grove. See Tenryuji Temple.

10 am – Visit Arashiyama Monkey Park.

11 am – Lunch in Arashiyama area.

12 pm – Take taxi to Kinkakuji (Google maps says approx. 30 mins)

12:30 pm – Visit Kinkakuji.

1:30 pm – Take taxi to Nijo Castle/Kyoto Imperial Palace (Google map says approx. 20 mins)

3 pm – Visit Nishiki Market.

6 pm – Dinner in Pontocho Alley area.

**Day #3:**

7 am – Fushimi Inari Shrine.

9am – Half-day trip to Nara.

3 pm and evening – Chill and eat?
