Hi, my fellow Philippine applicants

First of all, congratulations to all applicants who received the golden email!

Reading posts here the past few days about the email notifications gave me a hint that there were shortlisted applicants who received interview schedule already. Now, I just came across with the Embassy’s social media post, stating that preliminary screening results are out. So I think I didn’t make it again this time. Yes, this was my second time of application.

I’m a returning JET applicant, a licensed teacher by profession and has been in the academe industry for seven years, currently working in a university. When I applied two years ago, I was shortlisted, prepared a teaching demo, got interviewed by the Embassy. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it to the final stage. Still, it humbled me a lot but I also learned a lot. I promised myself that I’ll come back stronger. Until I took the risk again for the 2024 JET. This time, I haven’t received the email for the preliminary screening. 😁

Going forward, I’m still grateful that there are handful of Filipino JETs now who shared their tips, experience, and success stories (salamat po sa inyo at napakalaking tulong talaga). And yes, I also took time rewatching vlogs, socmed webinars, and such. Meanwhile, I hope that the Programme can give us tips on how to further improve our applications next time. I’m quite sure everyone thought they did their best. However, since they didn’t receive an email, they now feel clueless about which part they fell flat (this is exactly me right now 😅😁).

Above all, thank you for taking the time reading my cents. Tomorrow is another day, another fight. All the best to the next batch of Pinoy JETs and continue to be an epitome of the Filipino brand of teaching and ambassadorship. Mabuhay! 🇵🇭🇯🇵
