Salary negotiation vs vacation negotiation

So from what I’ve read, at JP companies there’s less room to negotiate salary compared to western companies. But what about vacation negotiation? The 10 days they’re offering is ridiculously low, lesser than a junior position in the west. My usual vacation is 20+ days or “flexible/unlimited”, and it might be a deal breaker. Because I understand there is golden week and other national holidays, but having vacation days that we can freely choose is hugely important for us.

10year exp senior frontend, bit of full stack, 9.5m yen base, plus bonus. The pay is on the lower end when compared to america but I would be willing to do it if it were minimum 20 days vacation. But it might be a equality thing where they don’t wanna give one person more vacation than the others.

The relocation is I think 400k yen. Toronto to Tokyo. I’ve been reading about shipping furniture via cargo ship because we have nice furniture that I don’t wanna throw away. But also worried it won’t fit in a Japanese size apartment.

No, it’s not woven, but it is a company that claims this particular division has more foreigners and more western hours. Hybrid 2 days in office, core hours 11am-3pm,I assume the expectation is to work 9 hours and lunch is not counted I guess, so 9-6pm? Which is also a bit of a shock coming from America.
