Hi there!
I will be in Japan for 12 days in July. I will spend 7 days in Yokohama (I must stay in Yokohama for a congress) and 4 days in Kyoto. On the last day (the 12th day), I will take a train to Narita airport (from Kyoto) to return home. While in Yokohama, I will travel to Tokyo almost daily (for sightseeing). My hotel in Yokohama is close to Minatomirai Station, and my hotel in Kyoto is close to Kyoto Station.

What transit pass do you suggest I buy? We are a family of three persons (two adults and a teenager).

I am considering buying the Greater Tokyo pass during my stay in Yokohama and the JR Kansai wide-area pass during my stay in Kyoto.I will also buy separate Shinkansen train tickets from Yokohama to Kyoto and then from Kyoto to Narita Airport.

Is it worth buying the Greater Tokyo pass in Yokohama and the JR Kansai wide area pass in Kyoto?
