  1. Once again, idiots think words are stronger than actions. They pulled the same meaningless crap with the national entrance exams, changing the name from センター試験 to 大学共通テスト while changing absolutely nothing else. How about being a more welcoming society where “rest” doesn’t have a negative connotation?

  2. Rather than changing the name, it would be better to make it mandatory to consume all paid vacation and parental leave.
    For paid leave, it is obligatory to take only 5 days, but it would be better to make it obligatory to take all days.

  3. Koike-san really does love her catch phrases. Despite her good intentions to encourage fathers to take parental leave, it still makes me wonder how many new dads working for the Tokyo Metropolitan Government would be given a hard time from their coworkers and managers for trying to make use of it.

  4. Japanese are encouraged to take time off. They get golden week off and can usually get some time off in aug and new year… that’s it.

    It’s not like America where you can save it and use it whenever.
