On the morning of 18 March, the bodies of two women were found in the rear seat of a passenger car that had been burnt to the ground in the parking lot of Nopporo Forest Park in Ebetsu City, and four days later, on the afternoon of 22 March, police arrested a 25-year-old Saori Inoue, a company employee from Sutou town, who was lying nearby on suspicion of having set some kind of fire inside the car and killing the two women.
