I’ve been looking through this thread to see what other people have thought about teaching in Japan, and what to expect/prepare in advance. I had an interview with GABA the other day, and seemed to have gone well. However, seeing all the recent stuff about GABA on here and what they’re like is concerning. I am a 22 year old British dude with a Bachelors Degree in History and Archaeology and would love to work in Japan, preferably in a city. I wouldn’t be against living there permanently, but at the minute am planning to just go for a year or two and then head back to the UK. Is it worth it? I’m not particularly fussy on shitty working environments and I would consider myself an extroverted person, but is this a good idea? Are there better opportunities once I have my Visa? I’m really confused. I am happy to answer any questions about this btw. Thanks!
