Hi everyone! I’m planning to go to Japan in a few weeks with my sister and I’m flying into Tokyo (by ~2pm on a Monday) but thinking of buying a ticket to Fukuoka last minute on the same day that I land and staying there for 2 nights before flying back to Tokyo. I already have an Airbnb for that Monday-Saturday, but I was wondering how likely it would be for us to find coin locker/airport counter storage space after we land at that time. I would much rather drop our stuff out at the airport and go through security again than to go to the airbnb and back just for our luggage.

Not sure which airport you’re landing at, but both [Narita](https://www.narita-airport.jp/en/service/delivery/storage/) and [Haneda](https://tokyo-haneda.com/en/service/facilities/baggage_checkroom.html) have luggage storage counters. That way, you don’t have to worry if there are lockers available.
If you’re staying at a hotel in Tokyo after returning from Fukuoka, I would ship your luggage from the airport to your hotel. Depending on the luggage forwarding service, they may be able to hold your luggage for up to a week and you would avoid hauling your luggage from the airport to your hotel.
