How do I prove I’m the same person on US docs if my Japanese and US names don’t match?

My name in the US is “Chosuke Lam” (not real, for privacy). In Japan my name is “Machida Chosuke” (my mother is Japanese, last name Machida). During a home loan approval process I provided documents regarding my US assets but it hit a snag because the names do not match.

I do have one document, my Japanese passport, that lists my name as “MACHIDA(LAM) CHOSUKE,” but as [I’ve dumbfoundedly found out](https://www.reddit.com/r/japanlife/comments/105fing/cant_use_japanese_passport_as_valid_id_at_japan/), the Japanese passport is not a valid ID in Japan.

Has anyone else dealt with this issue? Is there a way to provide evidence in Japan that I am the same person identified in my US documents?
