I was looking at going to graduate school in Japan, However I still need time to study as I have graduated, gotten a job and want to move into a different field. I saw on several University websites that they offer and even encourage people applying to the graduate school to start as a research student. I inquired more and they want me to give a research proposal. I was wondering if anyone had ever done this as on the websites and such they recommend this as many students use this time to prepare for graduate admissions. I’m wondering what the ratio of research vs studying actually is and what it’s like because i am having trouble getting a clear answer from the college as “every research is different” I was hoping i could find someone who had gone through this program already.
