I’m currently learning how to use 貰う and I need an explanation on why に is used to mark the giver. I learned that に marked the end point of an action, in other words, the indirect object. So, why does it, in this case, mark the one doing the action of giving rather than the receiver like with あげる and くれる(for example)?

I also could not grasp what the 2nd answer was talking about, so if someone could help dumb it down and explain it to me, or provide me the proper reason as to why, I would greatly appreciate it.
