Last year I used Free File Fillable Forms perfectly fine, but this year they’re requiring text message codes to create an account and, as always, they only accept US phone numbers.
I tried this new [ID.me](https://ID.me) thing and the only way to create an account with a non-US phone number is to do some bullshit video call from a smartphone when I’m trying to file taxes on a PC.
For-profit services that offer free filing refuse to file my returns for free because I live abroad. Trying to subscribe to their services and they all require US credit cards with US billing addresses.
Every time I find one method of 100% free filing, something changes the next year and I’m stuck with what, snail-mailing paper forms?
For those with absolutely **nothing** in the US (no address, no phone number, no credit card, no bank account), what service(s) are you using to file?
