Curious if anyone has found bars more closely resembling American bars in Tokyo, Kyoto, or Osaka? I’m currently in Tokyo and really enjoying the differences in drinking/nightlife culture so far, but I find it interesting that I haven’t come across and larger establishments where people congregate and interact in a larger bar setting which is so common in the USA and other countries I’ve been. Everything here seems so much more intimate.
