Hi everyone!
So, while I was making my plans, I found out that my first weekend in Osaka is actually the end of Golden week. So I wanted to ask for opinions about my itinerary, especially for those who have been to the areas around Golden Week. I would like to avoid major crowds if I could so perhaps some of you know which ones are doable on Golden Week weekend and which ones I need to find another day for.
I am arriving on May 4th, around lunch time, so I think the rest of the day would be strolling around Osaka. I was thinking of putting a day for Kyoto and Nara (May 5 and 6, does not matter which).
My current plans for Kyoto and Nara are:
Kyoto:
Morning: Arashiyama Bamboo Forest – Kinkakuji Temple
Lunch: Nishiki Market
Afternoon: Yasaka Tower to Kiyomizu-dera – Fushimi Inari
For Nara:
Todai-ji – Nara Park
I am thinking of doing some of the other Kyoto stuff in the morning before I go to Nara since I basically have 1 place only I have in mind for that area. I am thinking I want to get to Arashiyama in the morning, as well as the Yasaka tower photograph area in the morning so I can avoid crowds.
Any advise on these areas – especially in relation to the Golden Week(end) timing is appreciated. If I missed something really good, let me know. My homebase will be Osaka and will be there for most of my stay for work for the week after, but maybe I’d get some more time, who knows. Haha.
