  1. That guy looks a little like Anjin-san from Shogun. But with darker hair and a smaller frame.

  2. The kokyū, like the Chinese huqin. I’m a sucker for stringed instruments played with a bow, though it works best in ensembles.

If it’s solo played I probably prefer the koto

  3. I’ve always wanted to learn how to play a shakuhachi. The sounds are so haunting! Are you lucky enough to live in Japan or did you learn how to play elsewhere in the world?

  4. My favorite is koto. Its so soothing and relaxing, beautiful instrument both in sound and looks. Magnificent

  5. Beautiful! I’ve been playing for about three years, and I can only hope to match your level.

  6. this is amazing! you’re so good at it! how long have you been playing? this is probably my favorite sounding japanese instrument but took a class on taika in college and it was so fun to play!

  7. You’re wonderful at it! That was so beautiful to the ears. Alongside the shamisen, I wish to try the Shakuhachi. I already play the European flute, so I’m interested in seeing how different it is to play.
