Anybody have any idea how difficult it would be for a foreigner who has no Japanese abilities to get a job job in the radio field in Japan? I have around 4 years of experience with radio production and community outreach. Just sitting here hoping that it won’t be a complete pipe dream. I’m not really wanting to be the one on air.

As a thought exercise, try this: Japanese person moves to US to work in radio with no English skills. What would your advice be to him? Unless the station is on a US military base, the radio industry here is pretty domestic with little need for English. Sure, there are a few bilingual gaijin or biracial DJs and radio personalities but that’s about it.
