Planning a two-week trip for November. Would love feedback on the order, the routes chosen, driving ourselves vs. public transport some places, the pairings of sites, etc.
DAY 1
* Arrive Tokyo late afternoon
* no set plans for evening
DAY 2
1. Tsujiki Fish Market
2. Hamarikyu Gardens
3. Ferry to Asakusa
4. Sensoji Temple
5. Asakusa Neighborhood
DAY 3
1. Shibuya neighborhood
2. Shibuya crossing
3. Meiji Jingu Shrine
4. Harajuku
…evening: Shinjuku neighborhood
1. Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden
2. Bar Hop at Golden Gai
3. optional – Kabukichu
DAY 4
1. Train 1 hour Tokyo to Mishima Station
2. pick up rental car and drive 1 hr to Fujikawaguchiko
3. ropeway/ gondola walk/ ride around some of Lake Kawaguchi
DAY 5
options for the day:
* relax around Lake Kawaguchi area
* perhaps drive around the region a bit
* perhaps go to Hakone and see sites there
DAY 6
* drive from Lake Kawaguchiko to Tsumago
* believe this is about 3.5 hrs door to door but would take time to stop some times
* ….route looks like it goes up towards Nagano around mountains and back down???…
* explore Tsumago for a bit before dinner
DAY 7
1. quick bus to Magome
2. explore Magome for a bit
3. Hike Nagasendo Trail from Magome to Tsumago
4. Drive Tsumago to Nagoya
5. Train Nagoya to Kyoto
DAY 8
* relaxing morning (after previous day of travel and hiking)

* Eikan-do Temple
DAY 9

How will it be driving up and around the mountains going from Kawaguchiko to Tsumago…and anything we should make sure to see during that drive? Thanks in advance!!
