Hello, I was driving on the expressways in the Kansai area and was wondering why drivers would noticeably speed up when they enter tunnels, and return to a lower average speed when they leave.
I’m curious because where I’m from, people mostly slow down because of the darkness/confined space.
Is there a culturally specific reason why? Or is this a dumb question. Thank you so much in advance!
