Ok, that’s progress. I remember when there was a glut of drivers, and women were “discouraged” from getting a taxi driver’s licence. I know a woman that was rejected from getting her taxi driver’s licence, so she went back to school to become a programmer. Programmer was the better option. Driving a taxi is a tough job. Weird hours etc…
What about allowing dual citizenship with certain countries (eg US, EU countries, Canada).
Less relevant but speaking of the driver shortage in the article, I also saw posters up in my local train stations encouraging women to try becoming bus drivers. Actually it’s nice that they’re actively trying to recruit women too. I’ve only ever seen men doing that, same for trains. Don’t use taxi much.
