Classical Japanese 古典文語

Hi there,

I’m currently in my 3rd year of studying Japanese and I’m having problems with classical Japanese to English translation. I don’t mean a partucular text, but the process of translating as a whole. I know, this is a very specific question and perhaps, it’s not for this thread, but if there is someone knowledgeble I could really use some sort of advice on how to make the translation process easier.

I’m having trouble with looking for words and I can’t really understand the grammar used, especially the auxiliary verbs and particles as their functions are not even remotely similar to their modern counterparts. I’m currently using Haruo Shirane’s book on classical Japanese but I still can’t fully comprehend it.
