Just received an email from Uber Eats that my account will be terminated by Mar 31, 2024 due to a policy change resulting in the inability for residents holding Students or Dependents SoR- basically anyone that has a 28h/week restriction, to work as a delivery staff. I think this will have quite an impact. Less reckless cyclists on the road? Uber Eats charging yet more for delivery fee (as if it is not expensive enough already) due to the reduced delivery staffs?
(P.S. I no longer do deliveries nor order food from them, last time I did was way back- 2020, when I was still a student. Never bothered to update my account and just left it as is, so I’m assuming my account is still active because I received the email.)
What do you think of this policy change? I can’t say much, never ordered any food from them since the price markup is quite absurd.
