6 months-1 year of Language School into Job searching, bad plan?

Hello,

I’ve been (re)considering this option and I’d like to ask for your opinion of how good/bad of an idea it could be. Essentiallty I’d like to go to Japan with a student visa and use that time to find a full time job and move there for good. Place: Osaka, Reasons: many, but don’t wanna make this post too long so let’s just say I’m set on this.

`tl;dr:` around N1 level, 2 useless degrees, speaking a few other languages, some job experience in customer service (but ideally i wanna work in IT, at first anything would work tho), how likely is it i can find a full-time job during the 6/9/12 months of language school?

It’s been probably asked a lot and many people try to do this, but maybe my case is a bit different (or maybe not😂). I don’t necessarily need to take the language classes as my level is already around N1 (I took it in decemeber and couldn’t pass it for just 3-4 points, basically I wasn’t well rested and I failed the listening miserably which made me score slightly below 100, but if I retake this year I should at least girigiri pass it I feel) — now this isn’t to say that my Japanese is native level/perfect, I can definitely use more practice especially in speaking/output since I haven’t done that properly in ages, so lessons at a language school definitely won’t be completely useless, but also not really particularly needed.
I’ve also been in Japan at a language school in the past for 6 months, and have been studying the language for a while now (albeit not always with the most effective methods). Maybe some “business classes” would be ideal, but idk.

So why bother? Well, as you’re aware being in Japan makes finding a job there easier, plus ability to maybe network with recruiters in person etc., or people from the baito etc.
Ideally I’ll stay at the Language school as little time as possible and find a full time job asap, realistically I’m not sure how much time I should be needing. 6 months probably won’t be long enough? (given it takes months just for the work visa to get approved) So I’m looking at 9 months or 1 year to be safer?
Worst case scenario is I go there for let’s say, 1 year, and I can’t find a job except for the baito the school usually helps you find, and then I gotta go back. And I’d like to ask for your opinion on how “possible” that worst case scenario is.

About me:

* 31, bachelor and master degree (humanities-language studies subjects, kinda useless really), besides my native tongue and Japanese I speak English quite fluenty and Spanish decently.
* biggest weakness by far is my lack of Job experience in the field I’d like to work in, IT/tech. However I’ve been studying for the past year or so on my own, making a few projects/portfolio/website, and currently going for a compTIA cert (security+), as I don’t wanna be a developer but work on the security/networking side. As for the rest I have some custome service job experience (bartending and similar), plus some volunteering. Yes for being 30+ I don’t have much job experience overall, having wasted too much time doing useless extra degrees; sucks to be me, I know. 😭 Gotta thank myself for that, turns out being immature and not properly thinking about your future in your 20s and wasting time doing pointless sh\*\* makes your life much harder in your 30s.
* Important point though, I’ve been focusing only on IT jobs but if I go with this plan I should probably make a different set of CV papers without the IT stuff, and also look for other jobs (teaching, translation, toursim? Idk), basically at first, as long as they’re full-time jobs + work visa I’ll take anything, and think about transitioning later on. Obviously if I manage to land an IT job right away that’d be perfect.

And yes, I know, “get a few years of experience in your country first then think about going to Japan” that is probably the better plan, however I’d still like to ask if you think this plan here could realistically work, in the 6/9/12 months (not sure what amount of time would be ideal) that I’ll be there, and how possible the worst case scenario is.
Also I’ll probably look for a baito through the school asap so that I won’t rely solely on savings and potential scholarships.
— btw, anyone who is from Osaka but can tell me what should I expect in terms of baito salary and how much of monthly expenses it could cover?

Feel free to dm me also if you want!

`Thanks in advance!`
