HND to Kyoto on Day 1 Question

Hi! My first of likely many Japan Posts.
We are a family of 5, 4 adults and a 9-year-old, and spending 14 days in early June in Japan.
We arrive in Japan at 3:20 pm to Haneda.
The backend of our trip is dedicated to Tokyo and Disneyworld so we are looking to see how big of a pain it would be to get on the Shinkansen and into Kyoto on the day we arrive.
The obvious downside would be traveling on the Shinkansen at night and not seeing Japan with the sun up; we are first-time travelers to Japan, so excited to see Mt Fuji and the beauty of Japan. Also, we would need a more expensive Tokyo hotel for that night, preferably by the Shinkansen (if you have any recommendations, please let me know!)
The upside would be not losing a half day the next day getting to Kyoto and potentially fighting some jetlag on the day of arrival.
Open to any recommendations or suggestions! Thank you
