Cannot recommend highly enough! We spent a day there, a few of us experienced skiers, rest beginners with kids from 10 to teens. We come from a place with no snow, so this was the first time some of the kids saw snow!
This was so, so convenient as a day trip from Tokyo. You literally walk from Shinkansen into the booking and hire area. You can get EVERYTHING there, clothes, skies, gloves, including an amazing last minute group lesson for up to 8 people! We were all on the slopes within a few hours!
It’s now 1 April, there was still plenty of snow, the day was sunny, but the conditions can be checked beforehand if unsure. I guess it’s towards the end of the season, but not busy at all.
Not much choice for food there though, especially towards the end of the day.
Last Shinkansen back at 6pm.
