Au One Net – Service Question

I live in a detached house, looking to upgrade from a 1G line to a 5/10G line. Currently have So-Net service provided by NTT Hikari Flets. It’s a DS-Lite connection normally, but since I don’t live in a congested area, I found connecting via PPPoE was about as fast as IPoE with So-Net’s POS router, so I removed it and use my own instead.

Au Hikari’s available in my area, and I’ve read a couple other posts mentioning how Au Hikari + Au One Net’s a proper v6/v4 dual-stack implementation. I don’t know what that means exactly, so my questions are:

– Is this Au service completely void of these other MAP-E / DS-Lite protocols mentioned in the Wiki here that’s seemingly offered by all other ISP/Provider combos, and

– If yes, does that mean I could continue to avoid using their provided router and use my own (Asus GT-AXE16000) enabling the “Flets IPv6 Service” option and connecting on the IPv4 side… Automatic IP (I presume?)

Not using Au’s router they would provide’s just a preference, not a requirement. With my current setup, it was easier for me to use my own router without So-Nets, because I had issues with setting up bridged mode (something wasn’t working right, it was years ago I tried it and I tried a bunch of different options to no avail. I’m not very tech-savvy.)

Thanks in advance! 🙂
