>> Kokoiku was founded in 2010 mainly by mothers raising children, including 54-year-old head Akiko Nakamura. It aims to deliver accurate knowledge to children amid a flood of dubious information about sex on the internet.
If we are not going to allow children to learn in a safe and controlled manner. Then they are going to get it from these dubious news sources as stated.
Simply choosing to not talk about something does not protect children. It leaves them vulnerable to misinformation and worse, abuse.
Education system here is cooked
Time for some updated “Guidelines” perhaps??
The sex ed course that was broadcasted to all classrooms in the junior high school I worked at mainly talked about masturbation and repeated several times that they weren’t allowed to have sex. Never any mention of protection or ANYTHING. Just say: You are not allowed. Apparently that’s enough.
‘These state that science class for fifth graders “should not cover the process of human fertilization,” and the health and physical education course for junior high schoolers “should not cover the process of pregnancy.”‘ This is so stupid. We learnt this at school in Australia much earlier. It’s important for children to understand their own bodies and how to keep themselves safe.

What else would they talk about?
