Ipv6 not available – Docomo Hikari

I have Docomo Hikari with an 10g-onu and xg-100ne which has been slow and often drops connection. Although I tried changing the router without any luck, I thought I should start troubleshooting the current setup.
When doing some tests I found a speed test that showed Ipv6 is not available, is this something that I need to turn on in the router settings?
I thought this would be activated out of the box so am wondering if it is limitation of the line in our house, any ideas how to troubleshoot this?
Appreciate any ideas as although I am trying to research this, I have come up empty so far.
