Am I blowing things out of proportion in this case?

Hello everyone,

So I arrived to japan around 3 years ago and have been living in a university dorm since 2022. Recently there was a raffle to decide who would get to stay and unfortunately I wasn’t picked, so I have to move out by the 18th.

I have always payed my rent on time and I have no pending dues with the dorm, but I have struggled to find short term accommodation because I was planning to move to another city in the near future. I communicated this to the international division, who are the ones managing the dorm, since I would need a couple more days to submit some documents that require a new address. At no point did I said that I would not move out by the indicated date. However, upon returning home yesterday there was a big piece of paper taped firmly to my front door with these words :

入居最終日
令和6年3月18日(月)

今年度の入居は、3月18日(月)までです。
3月19日以降は住めません。計画的に引っ越しをしてください。

Basically an announcement telling me to fuck off, all in red font. They know my mail, my phone number, hell they have even contacted me through Microsoft teams before , so I was baffled that they resorted to taping something to my door to tell me that I have to move out.

I feel a little bit upset and disrespected that they had to resort to such methods to communicate with me, when I have never been problematic in any way. I know it is not worth it but I wanted to have a chat with them to communicate my discomfort with the situation.

Is this just normal behavior in Japan and I’m just out of the loop? Or am I justified to feel upset?

I know there’s people with bigger problems but thanks for taking some time to read and give me some perspective
