Getting rid of stuff (moving out)

I will likely be leaving my apartment (and Japan) from June, and I have to start thinking about getting rid of everything (bed, sofa, computer desk, fridge etc.)

I know that one option is to call up a government service, go to the convenience store to get a sticker, put it out on a certain date etc. This kind of seems like a pain to be (partly because I’m worried about my Japanese ability). In Nagano, there was a service where you would pay a someone driving a kei truck to carry as much as they could for 10,000 yen, which was super useful.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks!
