I’ve increasingly noticed ‘service charge’ sneaking onto a lot of menus and receipts recently 😡

Fuck. That. Keep that shit out of here. Clear, upfront pricing is one of the absolute **best** things about eating out here. You pay the prices on the menu, the staff are paid by the restaurant. Many of us know how this goes from home. Sure it starts at 10%, but then it’s 12, then 15, then 20%.

I’m not naive, I know it’s more complicated. Costs have risen and it’s hard for restaurants to generate profit to keep going. I just really hate service charges.

EDIT: I’m not talking about Izakaya table charges. That’s been here forever
