This guy is a real mystery to me. I ended up at a tiny exhibit of his paintings on a school trip in the mid 90’s, and it was mostly elementary-school level drawings of gangsters. I think one of them wasn’t wearing pants. It must have been before all his hardboiled movies, because it was really confusing.
He’s clearly a force of some kind, but I’m not sure I’d call him a good actor either. He’s just a vibe or something
